The practice covers Wantage and Grove and the surrounding villages. The team consists of 8 doctors, 22 staff and 9 attached community staff and together we offer a comprehensive range of medical and preventative services for our 12,100 patients. It is our aim to provide the highest standard of medical care in a sensitive and flexible way.
The practice is a member of and accounts to the Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust, which is based in Oxford OPCT We are a PMS Practice (Personal Medical Services rather than GMS, General Medical Services), which, from the patients perspective, means that we are focused on providing high quality services.
We operate an appointments system that ensures patients may see a doctor or nurse within 24 hours. The majority of doctors' appointments are 'book on the day' but we do still offer some appointments that can be booked up to two weeks in advance. Some nurses and blood test appointments can be booked up to a month in advance. The system includes telephone appointments and we encourage the use of these wherever appropriate; the receptionist will advise you if you are unsure.
We have a very active and dedicated Patient Involvement Group that helps us plan for the future, ensure we keep in touch with the general views of our patients and help keep our patients informed of changes though the quarterly newsletter and meetings.
