MRCGP
I hail from the Scottish Borders and moved to Wantage as Registrar to Dr
Bryan in 1999. I loved the practice so much, I never left! I became a
partner in 2001, and qualified as a GP Trainer in 2005.
My previous training included adult and paediatric A&E, Geratology and the
beginnings of a career in General Medicine. I switched to General Practice
initially because I couldn't find one specific subject I enjoyed more than
others. I quickly realised that General Practice suited my personality and
consulting style. I strongly feel that it is a great privilege to care for
patients and their families, supporting them in their most difficult- and
sometimes happiest- times of their lives. I have been made to feel very
welcome in Church Street over the years.
Owing to working 3/4 time and the commitments of training, I do not
currently have any other special interests within the practice, but enjoy
the day-to-day varied consultations.
My husband is a nurse and we have 2 young children, who form my main outside
interest! I also enjoy cycling (with child generally attached!), reading
(particularly forensic novels), my new Wii fit and Japanese culture and
history.
