Dr Phillip Ambler joined the Practice in 1982 to complete his GP training, and became a Partner the following year, a trend followed by two more recent Partners. He has revelled in community involvement ,and enjoys the all encompassing aspect of General Practice. He retires this summer.
His interests have included Ophthalmology, working sessions for the Oxford Eye Hospital, and for the past 20 years has twice a year worked with a colleague on the Thai-Burmese border delivering eye surgery to refugees from Burma. He anticipates having more time for this in retirement, as well as pursuing his passion for boats by learning traditional boat building
